We just wrapped up Memorial Weekend and the weather is sunny and warm. The beautiful faint smell of charcoal
is lingering in the air and that means only one thing.... Summer is here and it’s time to fire up the grill!
People are cooking up their favorite meats and veggies while enjoying family as safely as they can during this time.
This of course means you may want to serve wine with your bbq meal. But what wine goes well with bbq? Well, it depends on what you are grilling.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz is a best all-around wine that pairs well with bbq. The tannins
and the black cherry notes that you taste in a cab pair well with the high fats that you typically find in bbq meats especially burgers, beef ribs, and steaks.
Cooking pork? Then you will want to pair this meat with a white wine. Riesling would be a great pairing. The Riesling will act as palette cleanser and will also pair very well to your veggies on the grill.
Either way you go, whether a hearty red like a Cabernet or Shiraz or a crisp wine like Riesling, your BBQ will be tasteful!
