Red Red Wine

By: Dancing Birds Wine Tour

Summer is surely coming to an end, and this past Labor Day weekend we had a delicious red blend wine. Red blends can be lots of fun because it is a blend of variety of grapes. Red blends allow producers to combine and compliment several different grapes with high yielding grapes along with lower end grapes to make favorable blends. Red blends do not always get the notable recognition but some of the most famous wines are red blends. One notable wine we like is simply called Red Blend produced by Cask 307 Winery located in Geneva, OH. This wine is dark in violet color and has tasting notes of black cherry, blackberry and plum. A full-bodied wine, the dark berry wine gives rich currants with some mocha tannin. We found this red blend amazing especially as we are starting to ease into fall.
