The 4th of July holiday weekend is quickly approaching and we are gearing up to
celebrate with family and friends. Of course we need our wine to celebrate and we have just the wine that we believe everyone will enjoy...Sangria!
Now yes you can buy a bottle of Sangria but some of the best Sangria is usually made from scratch. Red Sangria usually starts with a medium body red wine, like Merlot. From there you would then build your flavors on top of that base wine. However, if you are in the mood for a white Sangria, you will want to use a zesty and aromatic white wine such as Riesling or Chenin Blanc.
The below diagram from Wine Enthusiasts Magazine shows you how to build the best Sangria. Remember Sangria is best served cold and we highly recommend making your Sangria a couple days before so that the flavor will marry together. Enjoy your Sangria and have a great Holiday Weekend.
