Simone & Evan

At my core, I am love, joy, brave, powerful, peaceful, visionary, and creative. I choose to live life through an optimistic lens that any and everything I manifest will gravitate toward me. It’s awarded me the privilege of traveling around the world. It’s built my network of trusted colleagues and dependable friends. It’s how I’ve been able to grow deeper bonds with my family members. Manifesting was how I met the love of my life, Evan. It was clear from the very beginning that he shared my vision on life. Together, we’ve laid a foundation, brick by brick and continue to do so, so that 30 years from now we can look back and say in awe, look at what we’ve created together – this is our legacy.

  the proposal

We drove from Santa Barbara to Yosemite, California in October 2021. The drive alone was absolutely stunning: the mountains and trees stood majestically, the sun shined even as the temperature began to drop from 85 to a perfect 70 degrees. That morning we set out on a 4.7 mile hike up Glacier Point – one of the most difficult hikes at Yosemite, mind you. We HIGHLY underestimated this hike, having NEVER hiked up a mountain before, standing up 3,200 feet above sea level. We didn’t think twice about it and just went for it. About mid-way through I was regretting this decision. Sweating, sore, out of breath, and ready to give up. Both children and experienced outdoorsmen zoomed past us. Unfortunately, it wasn’t one of those things you could just walk away from. No one was coming to save us. On the bright side, the views got better with every switchback. The air got thinner, cleaner, and before we knew it we started to gain a second wind. On the way up, Evan encouraged me by saying, “It will be well worth it once we get up there.” Hmm I thought to myself, what does he have planned? We kept going. We made it. Evan was right, the views were impeccable. Breathtaking. Only God could create such a scenery like this. Before I knew it Evan started to get down on one knee, expressing, “If we can get through hard challenges like the one we just experienced together, I know we can get through anything. Will you marry me?!” How can a girl not belt an emphatic YES to that?! We cried. We hugged and kissed. We unknowingly had an audience who erupted into applause and then we laughed and cried at the same time. The ring was better than I could have ever imagined. We were engaged.

  the one

I knew Evan was the one for me by the way he consistently showed up for me and our relationship. It wasn’t this light bulb moment or a grand gesture that did it; it was in the many small moments that quietly revealed themselves to me.

I'm a Cleveland native and lifelong resident who enjoys all things Cleveland sports, traveling, spending time with my fiance, our family/friends, and our dogs. I strive to better myself each day and remind myself to be thankful for everything God has given me (especially my future wife).

  how did you meet?

At a brunch in Cleveland Heights during a blizzard in January 2019. My cousin was dating one of Simone's good friends. It all started as a group date way back in 2019.

  the proposal

I made sure to pay attention to the type of ring she'd like before making the purchase (we took an exploratory trip to a local jeweler several months before),  incorporated Yosemite National Park into our California trip for the proposal location, checked out the best views/hikes in Yosemite, made sure I brought a tripod to capture the moment.
